Relay for Life 2015

On July 17 – 18, 2015, our office participated in Relay for Life, held at the Nibley Heritage Park.  This event ran from 2 pm on Friday through 2 pm Saturday; with almost every member of our team taking time out of their busy lives to walk for an hour or more or sit in our booth to support our fundraising efforts.  It was a cold, rainy weekend but we stayed strong in our commitments.  There were several celebrations during the relay including Opening Ceremonies, Survivor Lap, Caregiver Lap, and a special Luminaria Ceremony honoring a loved one who has had or is fighting cancer.  We were part of 35 teams, 279 participants who raised $62,435.44.  We even received an award for being the “New Kid in the Relay”.  We look forward to participating in future events like this in our community.

What Is Relay For Life?   Each year, more than 4 million people, in 5200 communities, and in over 20 countries raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer through the Relay For Life movement. Each Relay for Life event is special to its community, but the movement’s true power lies in the combined commitment of thousands of participants, volunteers, and supporters to help the American Cancer Society save lives from cancer.

Celebrate – During a Relay event, participants and survivors celebrate what they’ve overcome.

Remember – We remember people lost to the disease, and honor people who have fought or are fighting cancer.

Fight Back – The event inspires Relay participants to take action against a disease that has taken too much.
