Root Canal Quick Facts

A root canal (or endodontic treatment as it’s often referred) is a tooth treatment that helps preserves the tooth. It is done when the tooth pulp is decayed or inflamed. Root canals are not painful as the dentist numbs the tooth before the treatment begins. It is normal to start taking antibiotics immediately after you are diagnosed in preparation for your root canal.

Root canal treatments help preserve your natural tooth so that you can still enjoy efficient chewing and normal biting force and sensation.  It also may save other teeth from decaying, and eliminates the stress of removing and cleaning artificial teeth.
